Stain Remover

For my second project of the year, I decided instead of shelling out 4 bucks on stain remover that I would try my hand at making my own. I found many different recipes for stain removal but this one was the easiest and also seemed to address the most stains. It can be used as a spray on for clothes, but also used for furniture, carpet cleaner, grout, upholstery, and even red wine stains! I love having a stain remover that it so versatile and easy to make! I am going to name it "True Blue" Stain Remover.

One Year Down

Well it is official, my little boy is now one-year-old. Over the weekend of the 17th we had a little party commemerating the occasion, and the following Monday we took Aiden to Disneyland for the very first time! It was an amazing experience, and I cannot wait to take him again and again as he gets older. He loved meeting all the characters, he was completely fascinated by them. The rides were a little scary for him because he is not a big fan of the dark but I know that with time he will love them just as much as his mama does. His party was a big hit, and he had a pretty good turn out. He devoured his first cupcake, I've never seen anyone lean so much into a piece of food. It was so fun to see him enjoy himself so much. This was his very first birthday, I tried to make it as special as I could and I am so glad to be blessed with such a good natured and sweet little boy.  At the end of opening presents, he stood up and clapped, I could not ask for a better end to the party. I am so glad that he found a way to convey his gratitude and happiness with his guests. He has been running through the house playing with all his new toys since we got home, even while being sick. He loves the balloons from the party, he can even say balloon! His vocabulary is quickly expanding and I know that before I know it, we will be having full-on intelligible conversations. We are enjoying our time at home, when March rolls around we will be spending practically the whole month out of town. Hope you enjoy all the pictures from Aiden's Birthday Weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day

Date: February 14,  2013
Weight: 24.3 pounds
Height: 34.5 inches
Happy Valentine's Day! Today is Aiden's last first holiday. On Sunday, he turns one-year-old and I cannot believe that much time has already passed.  There are so many moments that I just want to freeze time, but the more I try to slow time down, the faster it seems to blur by. It is crazy to think that a year ago we were in Memphis about to welcome our little guy into the world and now he is literally running circles around me.  I was pretty sure that he would be walking before he turned one, and boy, was I right. That kid has taken more than a few steps, he has walked from one side of the room to the other! This past weekend my family came to visit, to deliver and set up our Christmas present; a brand new grill! I was so excited to show off our home and break in the new grill while they were here. We prepared steaks and asparagus on the grill and I made twice baked sweet potatoes, for a stellar farewell dinner on Sunday. Aiden loved having all of his family around, he adores being surrounded by friendly faces. It seems like every weekend we have something to do or somewhere to be; this weekend we will be in Apple Valley celebrating his first birthday. I already know that I have gone overboard but I want his party to be amazing. I want to be able to throw awesome birthdays for my little guy, so I want to start off with a good one! Not only will we be having a birthday party but we are going to take Aiden to Disneyland for the first time!!!! So look forward to lots of great pictures next week!

My Best

Date: February 6, 2013
Weight: 23.4 pounds
Height: 34.5 inches
Broken Toe :( Ouch!!!
Everyday I do my best. I do my best to be the best mom, the best employee, the best fiance, the best homemaker, the best person that I can possibly be. I think that is another consequence of being a parent, it causes you to reevaluate yourself and want to change your flaws. I want to be the best person I can be so that Aiden will have someone to look up to, someone to emulate, someone to be proud of.  Having a child has made me want to be a better person, it makes me want to make the world a better place for him. I have always been a positive person, and I want him to have that same mentality. I want my son to be able to look at the world and see the good, to be able to see the bad as learning opportunities and to always realize how blessed he is. I look at every day as an opportunity to show him that he is loved, and I am truly grateful for that opportunity. When the days get hard and people get on my last nerve, I think about the example that I want to be for my son and I act accordingly. I know that I will mess up and make loads of mistakes, but I will never stop trying to be the mom(and the person) my son deserves. Quick update on us this week: I broke my pinky toe and it hurts like heck, Aiden nearly bit through his tongue and I did not realize that a tongue could bleed so much, (He is doing better, and is actually the toughest person I know!), Dave is still recovering from a cough and exhaustion spell. So other than being put through the ringer physically, we are all doing pretty good. Even though our life is crazy and we hit bumps in the road, I am incredibly grateful and thankful for all that we have and I hope that I never take it for granted.

My Reason To Be Better :) LOVE this Kid!!
