5 Months Old!

Date: July 18, 2012
Weight: 18.3 pounds
Height: 29 inches

I would like to start off this post by apologizing for our absence last week. Aiden and I were on a family vacation in Vegas, and although we brought the Wii to weigh-in like normal we were faced with a malfunctioning machine. We tried to get the information out but it just wasn't in the cards for us. Vegas with the family was a lot of fun, it was Aiden's first time meeting my dad's side of the family. He was a perfect little angel, I am beginning to think that he is a little ham and a BIG flirt. We got to meet his first first cousin while we were there, who happens to be a year older than Aiden to the day. I got to experience a cute little moment when the two of them played peek-a-boo that just melted my heart. We also went in the pool for the first time, and it is confirmed my boy loves the water! The temperature at night in Vegas was perfect for me to take him out without having to worry about him getting a sunburn. I loved watching him experience his first time in the pool, it was one of my favorite "firsts" so far because I can imagine all the times down the line when he will be doing this same activity.
Now, despite how amazing our week in Vegas was it cannot compare to what happened between this Wednesday and last, DAVE CAME! Finally, our little family is reunited! We are so happy to have him with us, it has been far too long. He came right before Aiden turned 5 months(which happened to be yesterday), so he got to spend that day with us. I'm not sure how long we will be in our current location(my parents house) but it is good to know that wherever we go from here we will be going as a family. I will probably be posting an update within the next few days about Aiden's first solids and our plans for the future. Stay tuned! :)

Happy Independence Day!

Date: July 4, 2012

Woohoo, Happy 4th of July! This is one of my favorite holidays, I love fireworks. I am hoping that my little man tolerates and even enjoys them, but he has been kind of skittish when it comes to loud noises. Considering we watch the fireworks REALLY close up, this might potentially be a disastrous combination. I am sending up prayers that Aiden can handle it, and actually enjoy the beauty of the fireworks. If he doesn't this year, I am sure that he will grow to love them just like his mommy. Speaking of growing, it is indeed Wednesday and we have his new measurements. I have to cut this post short because I have an apple pie in the oven, what is more American than apple pie? :) Have a wonderful 4th everyone!!!!
