Last Weeks Blog

**I was waiting to get pictures of Aiden's birthday which is why this post is a week late**

Since the day Aiden was born I have had two songs playing in the back of my head, and I find myself singing them aloud whenever my patience is being tested or things feel overwhelming as a parent.  The songs is "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins and "It Won't Be Like This For Long" by Darius Rucker. They basically talk about how fast life goes by and how much you will miss these moments (even the hard ones) when they are nothing but a memory. This week it is all about the number 3, Connor turned 3-months-old on Monday and Aiden became a big 3-year-old on Tuesday. Since Aiden is a 3-year-old, he gets to graduate from being held and weighed on the Wii to actually standing on it by himself and playing the games. It was so fun to watch him experience the games for the first time. This past weekend we had Aiden's third birthday, I put a lot of work into it and I think that it turned out pretty well.  Aiden was so thrilled to have his cousin Kaiden there, and I loved seeing the two of them playing together and having such a blast. The first three years of Aiden's life have flown by and I cannot wait to see what this next year has in store for us!

Aiden's Sick but Connor's Sleeping

Connor & Uncle Matthew
He's really starting to enjoy his hands.

Brotherly Love pic of the week- Aiden constantly demands them.
When your kids are sick, everything else seems to take second fiddle. Aiden was hit with some kind of bug last week, and unfortunately has yet to shake it.  I have been so busy taking extra care of him (on top of my normal care for Connor, my 8-hour work day and domestic duties) that I have not even gotten a chance to weigh my little guys on the wii, let alone blog about how we are doing.  However, I am currently enjoying a rare moment when both boys are asleep and all my work(job not house) is done which means I can put a few words down and a few pictures up. I am hoping and praying that Connor does not catch whatever Aiden has, and that Aiden feels 100% soon.  Worrying about your kids being sick/getting sick is the worst.  It is one of the hardest things about being a parent (in my opinion). You do the best you can to make them feel better, but for the most part you feel helpless as you ride out the sickness. Aiden is turning three next week, and we are having a party for him this weekend. I am hoping and praying that he has kicked this sickness by then, he loves all things birthday and I would not want any of it ruined by his feeling unwell.  Connor is doing really well, he started sleeping through the night for the most part.  He only wakes up one time, if he wakes up, and he goes back to sleep very easily after being fed.  It is glorious getting more than two hours of sleep at a time, although I find myself waking to check on Aiden so I still have not had the pleasure of a full nights sleep. I am hoping to have cute pictures from Aiden's birthday on next week's blog and an actual "weigh-in." Have a great rest of the week and weekend!
